Jewels Travel Adventures: March 2007

Hello Everyone!!!!! Sorry it took so long to write. Been doing really good here in Australia. Lovin it so much!!!! Well let’s start at the beginning of this adventure. Greg’s mom Carol drove us to the airport in Dunedin (about 3 hours from Queenstown). So we get in line to check in and both of our bags are 15 kgs over weight (only allowed32 max and we had 35) so we had to take stuff out of our bags…..how embarrassing!!!! Thank gosh we had Carol there so she kindly took some of my stuff back to Queenstown with her. So we finally got on the plane. The flight was good and flying into Sydney was cool. The views were awesome!!!! We stayed in a hotel on Darling harbor, thanks to Greg’s dad and step mom, Gary and Michelle!!! Was so nice to just go and not have to worry about finding a place as soon as we stepped off the plane. In Sydney we just hung out, went and saw the Harbor Bridge, the Opera House, went to the aquarium and the famous Bondi Beach (famous?? Had never even heard of it haha). One night we met up with one of Greg’s mates and had some drinks. And I think the best part of the Sydney trip was TONY ROMAS. Yes I went!!! And it tastes exactly like home!!! Then we decided to take a 15 hour bus ride up to Surfers Paradise….15 hours is not that long right?? Wrong….never again let me tell you…my ass has never hurt so much before. When we got to Surfers we went to look for the hostel, we could not find the street. We then found a street that had a sign saying the formerly known street as ….was now…no wonder we could not find the street name on any maps. We stayed at the hostel for the next three nights till we found a place to live. And we found a great studio apartment. Two minutes from the centre of everything we need and one minute from the beach. It is the perfect place for us!!! Have been swimming in the sea a few times, takes some getting used to with all the salt, but is so nice because the water is so warm. Now we are just in the process of looking for jobs…well just Greg now…I got a job at the Hard Rock Café serving…should be good…the first place to work where I am not getting told to shut up for being to loud...haha…not fun…but oh well.
